All of us have the choice whether to make our life happy or sad, exciting or boring, or bright or dark. Who wants to live a life filled with misery? And who wants to live a life full of hope?
Problems are the ones that make us think that we are living in the darkness where we cannot see other things but negativities. Problems are the ones that destroy the lives of weak people. Yes, only the weak people. Because I am sure that if we are strong enough to face these problems, we will remain unaffected. We will remain standing. And we will continue living a bright life.
Life is a tunnel. The moment we were born, we entered the tunnel of life where everything was dark. We will encounter along this tunnel many problems that we have to overcome in order to continue our journey. But I tell you, our creator gives us problems that He knows we will surpass and also will make us become better human beings. These problems are actually our building blocks towards success. It is where we learn many things that we won’t be able to learn if we didn’t encounter them.
No man is an island. When facing our problems, we need other people’s help. But that doesn't end there, we also have to help other people because life is a give and take process. If we lighted up others’ way, I am sure that time will come that they will also light up ours. And if that happens, life will become easier.
Despite the negative things that happened to us, we have to keep going until we reach our dreams. Hope is what we need. Hope is what will make us sturdy. And as what a Chinese proverb goes, “Don’t curse the darkness- light a candle.”
